Thanks--do they want requests for the fridges ahead of time, and did they say a price?

Re: mini-fridges

There are a limited number of them available upon request from the hotel.

Re: luggage

On the left as you enter the Sheraton, there is a bell captain's desk where you can check bags until you can check into your room.

I have a room at the Sheraton starting Friday. I'll be arriving by T Friday morning, with a fair amount of luggage. Unfortunately, check in doesn't open until 3:00. Is there a "luggage check" where I can store my stuff until then?

Any word on mini-fridges?

Tom,
Did you book a room with 1 bed and do you now want 2 beds?
If so, you should talk to them ahead of time.

A friend will be sharing my room (booked originally as a single); should I tell the hotel in advance?

Sorry about the food post - I'll repost it in the proper forum. Sheila, can you delete that post?

One source for prepared food is the nearby Shaw's Supermarket at 53 Huntington Avenue. This supermarket is NOT connected to the Pru, but is just outside it. There is a stairway that will get you to the street near the Marriott skybridge, but I don't know offhand where it is exactly - I'll research it and post. The market is open 6 AM to Midnight seven days a week. Holiday hours may be different - call 617-262-4688 for full details.

Re: skywalk

Right now, the last section of the skywalk (the bridge to the Marriott) is closed from 2AM-6AM. The rest is open all night.

Re: hotel windows

Our hotel liaison says that neither hotel has windows which can be opened.

Posted by: Sheila Perry | July 14, 2004 09:19 AM

Are the windows in either con hotel openable?
Either officially, or non?

Re: skywalk

I believe it is always open, but I'll double check.

I'm registered at the Marriott Copely Place & while I do know there is a skywalk between the hotel & convention center will it be open at all times during the convention or closed during the wee hours?

Although there are no such facilities at the hotels, Back Bay Laundry Emporium & Dry Cleaning is nearby at 409A Marlborough St, Boston, MA 02115-1501; their phone number is: (617) 236-4552.

Many more laundromats and cleaners are listed at:

http://boston.zami.com/Laundry/A-Z
http://boston.zami.com/Cleaner/A-F

Note: These companies are not associated with N4 and we have no control over them.

Any laundry facilities at hotel or near by? I mean self laundry - coin op type.

Re: Pets at N4

The Marriott policy is "no pets except for service animals."

The Sheraton policy (which is online at
http://www.bringyourpet.com/lodging/ma/ma200.htm -- not an official Sheraton site, but passed on to us as the official policy by our Sheraton CSM) is "Only dogs are allowed (under 80 lbs). Reservations should indicate that a dog is accompanying the guest. A waiver must be signed at check-in before a dog will be allowed in any guestroom; excessive damage done by dog will be charged to credit card on file. Dogs are not at pool."

Noreascon Four will permit service animals only to accompany members into the convention center or public function areas of the hotels. No other animals are permitted in public convention space.

In regards to food preparation in hotel rooms at N4, the policy of the hotels is:

Mini-refrigerators are available, although in limited supply, and currently cost about $10/day, although we'll get a more accurate price as we get closer to the con.

Microwaves are not supplied, and cooking in general is not permitted.

********

There are grocery stores close by that sell a range of prepared foods; we'll have detailed information about them available soon.

****

The special hotel rates for N4 do not include meal plans and food cannot be ordered in advance from the hotel.
